WHAT IS PAINT CORRECTION?

Introduction

Paint correction is an art in automotive detailing that involves the removal of imperfections from a vehicle's paintwork to restore its appearance to a like-new condition. It's a meticulous and skill-intensive process that can make a significant difference in a car's overall aesthetic appeal.

The primary goal of paint correction is to address a range of paint imperfections, which may include:

  • Swirl Marks: These are fine, circular scratches that create a hazy or dull appearance on the paint's surface. They are often caused by improper washing and drying techniques.

  • Scratches: These can vary in depth and severity, from minor surface scratches to deeper, more noticeable ones.

  • Water Spots: These are mineral deposits left behind by evaporated water droplets, which can etch the paint if not removed promptly.

  • Oxidation: Over time, a car's clear coat may start to oxidize, resulting in a faded and chalky appearance. Paint correction can restore that new car shine and luster.

  • Swirl removal: This is the process of carefully polishing the paint to eliminate swirl marks and other minor imperfections, resulting in a smoother and more reflective surface.
